Incontinence, or bladder control issues are common, but NOT normal!
GUESS WHAT? YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SUFFER with bladder control problems any longer! Whether you experience dribbling once or twice a month or leak regularly when you sneeze or cough you can do something to decrease or eliminate it!
What is stress incontinence? Stress Incontinence, the most common type of incontinence, is the involuntary leaking of urine, often at inappropriate times, during periods of coughing, laughing, sneezing, heavy lifting, orgasm or strenuous sports activities. Usually only small spurts of urine are lost but it is certainly enough to be bothersome. Leaking occurs when the pressures pushing on the bladder from the abdomen are greater than the strength of the muscle of the urethra (tube) to hold urine in.
Why is this happening to me? Most common types of incontinence are caused by weakened pelvic floor muscles. Leaky bladders can be caused by pregnancy, childbirth, urinary tract infection(s), muscular problems, hormone imbalance or menopause.
Urine leakage only happens to me once in a while! Do I really need to worry about this right now?
Absolutely, YES! Even the slightest incontinence problem, if not treated, can lead to very serious health concerns such as a prolapsed organ. This means the pelvic floor muscles become so weak that they can no longer support the pelvic organs, the bladder being a common organ to fall. The uterus or bladder can slip out of place, fall through the vagina and cause a lot of discomfort and serious incontinence issues.
