I have practiced nursing since 1994 and have been in the healthcare industry for more than 29 years. Much of my career was enjoyed at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). It was at MGH that I discovered my interest in urology and the science and art in treating it. With the knowledge I gained from that experience, and further research about incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction, I developed educational modalities for one of the first Bladder Programs in Massachusetts. I have recently opened three new Bladder Clinics in the North Shore.
My private practice focus is on Pelvic Floor/Muscle Dysfunction (incontinence and pain). I also focus heavily on preventative measures that will help people avoid ever experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction of any kind.
I received my degree in nursing from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon. Throughout the course of my career in nursing I have been recognized as a leader in the healthcare industry. MGH awarded me scholarships and recognitions for leadership and nursing expertise. My postgraduate studies continue at Regis University where I am studying for Masters Degree in Nursing.
I launched my practice to make a difference in the lives of the millions of Americans who are suffering with incontinence and other pelvic floor disfunctions. With regard to incontinence specifically, I believe that our society perceives incontinence as a hygiene problem or a dirty condition. This unfortunate stigmatism often causes individuals living with incontinence great pain, loneliness and shame. I am on a mission to change this so people no longer have to live in silence with incontinence for fear of ridicule and embarrassment.
My Mission My mission is to provide excellent health care to individuals suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction; to help them build core strength that will enhance their daily living and happiness. In doing this, I especially hope to help those who suffer from incontinence while contributing to removing the stigmatism associated with incontinence in America. I believe this will ultimately increase society’s understanding about all pelvic floor conditions and thereby enhance encouragement and support for people living with it.
